Position Overview:
There are approximately 5 million English Language Learners (ELLs) in the U.S. K-12 education system. Within the next decade, ELLs will account for 1 in 4 students. Nearpod for ELL is a new product offering that leverages Nearpod’s award winning learning platform to provide ELLs with interactive lesson plans and research-based curriculum.
 
We are looking for a strong leader with entrepreneurial spirit to further develop this new business unit and to grow it  into a key component of Nearpod’s product offering.   The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, dedicated business manager who is excited to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and has a proven track-record interacting with various departments within a company.  This person has deep knowledge of the ELL market and has had concrete experience working within Sales, Marketing and/or business development organizations within ELL-oriented businesses.
 
 
Role and Responsibilities: 
  • Develop a comprehensive go to market strategy for “Nearpod for ELL”, in collaboration with Nearpod’s Sales, Marketing, Product and Content teams
  • Work closely with Sales to develop new business with districts nation-wide, and interact directly with ELL  district administrators in key districts
  • Collaborate with the Customer Success/Training team for successful product roll-out and implementation in key customers
  • Work with the product team to develop new product features that cater the specific needs of ELLs, teachers and administrators
  • Coordinate with the Content team the development of the ELL content strategy
  • Explore content partnerships with publishers to develop new ELL materials lesson plans and other instructional materials
  • Work with Nearpod’s  marketing team to successfully position “Nearpod for ELL” as an industry leader and trusted partner who can serve effectively ELLs and its teachers
  • Act as an ambassador for the product internally and externally
  • Build and lead a small dedicated team for Nearpod x ELL, including a Jr Product Manager, a ELL content development specialist, and an implementation specialist
  • Define, obtain approvals and manage “Nearpod for ELL’s” budget
 
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required
  • Master’s Degree  (MBA or Education) preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with education, ELL products
  • Deep knowledge of the ELL market
  • A passion for bringing technology into the classroom as well as a desire to learn about education technology and new curriculum trends
  • Ability to coordinate many internal stakeholders to execute the defined strategy
  • Incredible precision, attention to detail, and organization skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
