Position Overview:
The Vice President of Content Strategy has grown out of the need to build on Nearpod's popular digital lessons that are tailor-made for the new classroom modalities, including mobile devices and future iterations of those devices.  Nearpod’s digital content is delighting and engaging students and teachers alike.  Our VP will build on this popularity and continue on the path of innovation with a goal to broaden and deepen the teaching and learning experience. H/she will be working both from an inside/out, outside/in perspective to create foundational and future strategies and then execute to scale the business.
 
H/she will partner with the CEO to develop a short and  long term content strategy and work closely with our Sales, Marketing and Customer Success teams to deploy Nearpod digital content into US schools and school districts.  Included in this, is responsibility for defining content production publishing plans, sourcing content partners, helping secure (with Sales) district contracts and positioning Nearpod as an incoming leader in the digital content space for the K-12 education market.

The ideal candidate has had leadership positions in sales and/or marketing and has extensive experience in the K-12 educational content market with a strategic understanding of the major trends affecting the industry (growth of digital products, regulatory environment – both local and federal, major funding sources, national and state curriculum standards, etc.).  The ideal candidate also has been directly involved in leading or supporting content sales efforts to US school districts and a network of personal connections with both publishers and districts. Finally, a solid vision of how digital tools are affecting and will affect the content  business for publishers is a must.
 
Role and Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the CEO to define short and long term content strategy
  • Work closely with the  VP of Sales to execute content sales strategy
  • Collaborate with the Director of Content Development to define and execute digital content production projects
  • Work with product management and engineering to define and build necessary components for increased team efficiencies and improved user experience
  • Source compelling content partnerships
  • Set the vision for marketing campaigns
  • Support & train sales reps on all content-related matters
  • Define and manage content production budget
  • Build and grow relationships with key curriculum buyers at the school district level
  • Work from an outside in/inside out perspective to create a holistic flow of new information, resources and ideas for both Nearpod and education industry
  • Contribute to thought leadership through blogging, social media, etc.
  • Represent Nearpod at conferences, industry panels, trade shows and in the media
  • Grow a content team with both passionate educators and relentless executors
 
Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree in Business and/or Education desirable
  • Previous leadership roles in sales & marketing
  • A passion for bringing technology  into the classroom
  • A deep knowledge of curriculum and edtech trends
  • Long-term relationships with district leaders and publishers
  • Track record in building revenues, and cohesive teams in professional history
  • Entrepreneurial, roll-up sleeve mentality
  • Teaching experience preferred
