Program Overview

The Nearpod Summer Fellowship is a full-time, paid summer internship for rising college Seniors and first-or-second-year teachers interested in pursuing a full time position at Nearpod upon graduation (Fall 2018).
As a Nearpod Summer Fellow, you will gain unique exposure to the top challenges and opportunities within education technology and develop knowledge and skills that will be invaluable as you begin your career. By working within one of Nearpod’s six core teams, you will build deep functional expertise and spearhead a project aligned with both your business and education interests. Nearpod will also host a series of events and workshops throughout the summer designed to give fellows exclusive access to learn from and network with top technology executives and education leaders.

Interns will:
  • Lead specific projects within one of our six core functional teams
  • Work closely with an assigned mentor

  • Attend employee events including Brunch & Learns with outside speakers
Interns will get matched with one of the following teams based on prior experience & interest:
  • Sales: Works with teachers, schools and districts to generate new business opportunities. Projects in this area include learning the ins and outs of Salesforce as a driver of sales process, working with the client renewals team to capture more value from current customers and working with our lead generation team prospecting potential customers.
  • Product & Engineering: Works with teachers, technology coordinators, and internal Nearpod teams to develop and improve tools based on classroom needs. Day to day includes conducting user research and analysis, designing wireframes, and working with engineers and product managers on feature development.  Projects in this area will include building and improving features that make teaching and learning easier and more engaging.
  • Content: Works with teachers and publishers to create accessible world-class learning experiences that are valuable for teachers and impact millions of students across the country. Projects in this area include assisting in all aspects of the production pipeline, supporting new curriculum development projects and streamlining our business development and publisher efforts. Knowledge on pedagogy and instructional design a plus!
  • Customer Success: Works with our customers to set them up for success from the first step to the last. The goal is to not only retain the customer, but also to always be on the lookout for ways to expand the relationship and use of the platform. Projects in this area include, but are not limited to, building a program to ensure small or free pilots are successful in a scalable way, identifying new ways to highlight and promote stellar uses of Nearpod by current customers, and building a “gamification” program to promote early engagement in new customers.
  • Marketing: Works with internal teams and our greater community to share inspirational and aspirational teaching experiences and opportunities. Projects in this area include, but are not limited to, building a Nearpod student ambassador program, taking our university partnerships to the next level and defining social media viralization strategies.
Program Logistics:
  • Program will run for 8 weeks from June 19 - August 11
  • Interns must work from the headquarters office in Miami, Florida
